Mittelohr

Die Mittelohr-Forschung ist einer der Hauptforschungsschwerpunkte unserer Klinik. In unserem Mittelohr- und Felsenbeinlabor untersuchen wir hierbei unter Verwendung innovativer Messtechniken, wie bspw. der Laser-Doppler-Vibrometrie, die Mechano-Akustik und den Übertragungseigenschaften des Mittelohres bzw. die Weiterleitung des Schalls durch das Mittelohr an das Innenohr und die Möglichkeiten, mit passiven und aktiven Hörprothesen Schwerhörigkeiten zu verbessern.

Derart konnten wir in Verbindung mit medizintechnischen Firmen bereits mehrere Mittelohrprothese entwickeln, die sich inzwischen in der klinischen Praxis etabliert haben und von vielen Kliniken im Rahmen von Ohroperationen eingesetzt werden.

Weitere Forschungsthemen betreffen aktive Hörimplantate wie die Vibrant Soundbridge oder auch Cochlea Implantate (CI). Bei letzteren rückt in den letzten Jahren mehr und mehr die Frage nach einem möglichen Hörerhalt in den Fokus, wenn bei einem noch nicht vollständig ertaubten Ohr eine Elektrode im Innenohr platziert werden muss. Diesbezüglich untersuchen wir die Möglichkeiten einer möglichst atraumatisch, also wenig-verletzenden, Insertion der Elektrode.

Im Forschungsbereich der Mittelohrgruppe wird vor allem die Mechanik des Mittelohres untersucht. So testen und entwickeln wir die Möglichkeit neuer Mittelohrprothesen. Zum Forschungsspektrum gehören aber auch neueste Entwicklungen wie etwa knochenverankerte Hörgeräte, BAHA oder Vibrant Soundbridge.

Die Ergebnisse unserer Forschungsergebnisse publizieren wir regelmäßig in nationalen und internationalen Fachzeitschriften.
